Maiden Mother Crone When I was young she came to me as Maiden We laughed and danced on hillsides in the sun She taught me to find joy in simple pleasures She taught me that the earth and I are one CHORUS She’s the Maiden, Mother and the Crone Feel her spirit in the wind She’s the voice in all of nature From beginning to the end When I became a man she was the Mother Side by side we watched our children grow She taught me how to give and how to nurture And all the things a father needs to know CHORUS She’s the Maiden, Mother and the Crone Feel her spirit in the wind She’s the voice in all of nature From beginning to the end Now that I am old she is the crone She calls my name and takes me by the hand She comforts me and shows me new beginnings And teaches me that this is not the end CHORUS She’s the Maiden, Mother and the Crone Feel her spirit in the wind She’s the voice in all of nature From beginning to the end

02 The Sage 06:09
The Sage Copyright 2016 by Charlton Hall In the springtime of my life I called out to the Sage What wisdom can you share with me To guide me on my way? The treasure that he gave to me I’ve carried to this day He pondered then he smiled at me This is what he had to say From the town of Falias receive the Stone of Fál And from it learn the web of life That you are one with all As you are in the Goddess The Goddess is in you Learn this lesson from the stone And you will e’er be true In the summer of my life I called out to the Sage What wisdom can you share with me To guide me on my way? The treasure that he gave to me I’ve carried to this day He pondered then he smiled at me This is what he had to say From the town of Gorias receive the spear of Lugh And from the spear learn leadership As you make the world anew As you are in the Green Man The Green Man is in you Learn this lesson from the spear And you will e’er be true In the autumn of my life I called out to the Sage What wisdom can you share with me To guide me on my way? The treasure that he gave to me I’ve carried to this day He pondered then he smiled at me This is what he had to say From the town of Findias receive the sword of fire And from the sword learn destiny And your dreams you will acquire As you are in the Mother The Mother is in you Learn this lesson from the sword And you will e’er be true In the winter of my life I called out to the Sage What wisdom can you share with me To guide me on my way? The treasure that he gave to me I’ve carried to this day He pondered then he smiled at me This is what he had to say From the town of Murias receive the cauldron’s grace And from it learn prosperity As the Dagda you embrace As you are in the Father The Father is in you When you drink from the cauldron Then you will e’er be true At the ending of my life I called out to the Sage What wisdom can you share with me To guide me on my way? The treasure that he gave to me I’ve carried to this day He pondered then he smiled at me This is what he had to say From the Isle of Avalon receive the silver cord And from it learn enlightenment And come to your reward As you are in the Spirit The Spirit is in you Learn this lesson from the cord And you will e’er be true

I Went Another Way Copyright 2016 by Charlton Hall I never felt the spirit In temples made by men But the forest called to me As a child I tried to understand it To follow where you led But I only felt at home There in the wild For a long time I pretended To go where you had gone To try to make you happy with your choice But I soon grew tired of make-believe When the Goddess called to me There in the woods I found her voice CHORUS You have your own path But I went another way The door is open from my side The choice is yours We can agree to disagree You don’t have to run and hide “Hate the sin but love the sinner” Is what I’ve heard you say To justify the closing of your doors But when it comes to hating This is what you need to know The hating is your god’s job, and not yours I know our paths are different And we both have different ways But the pathway doesn’t matter in the end If you can set aside your judgments I’ll try to do the same Because I know we both could use a friend CHORUS You have your own path But I went another way The door is open from my side The choice is yours We can agree to disagree You don’t have to run and hide You find wisdom in your one god I find wisdom in them all In the end I find that we both seek the light You chose to shut me out because You think that I am wrong But self-righteousness doesn’t make you right You turned your back on me Because I went another way Your decision’s your loss and not mine I’ll be waiting patiently If you ever change your mind In the meantime Me and mine are doing fine CHORUS You have your own path But I went another way The door is open from my side The choice is yours We can agree to disagree You don’t have to run and hide

I am Coyote Copyright 2016 by Charlton Hall CHORUS I am Coyote I am the Trickster I chase a wandering star I am Coyote I am the mirror I show you who you are You take yourself so seriously Just struggling to survive When the only thing that’s certain Is you won’t leave life alive Keep swallowing those camels While you’re straining at a gnat The way to leave the rat race Is to stop being a rat CHORUS I make you question everything The things you hold so dear I tell you the truth Instead of what you want to hear If you feel the anger burning When you hear the words I say Then you gave me permission To make you feel that way CHORUS FLUTE INTERLUDE CHORUS My jokes and jests at your expense Are made to help you see Beyond the mask that you put on To hide yourself from me I challenge you to look within To see what you could be Heed the lessons that I teach And I will set you free CHORUS x 3

If I Could Only Tell You As I’ve watched you grow to be a woman There are so many things I’ve longed to say So many times I’ve wished that I could tell you But the word and my intention’s in the way I know what you’re going through because I’ve been there too But you have to figure life out on your own It’s so hard to watch you suffer and I want to lend a hand And I know sometimes you feel so all alone CHORUS If I could only tell you Just one thing to help you grow You already have within you Everything you need to know So trust your inner wisdom No matter what they say If only I could tell you What I’ve learned along the way All that I can do is to be here for you I wish that I could take away your pain But I have to trust your wisdom now and let you spread your wings The healing has begun now but the memory remains I know I never told you but I know inside you’re strong Someday you’ll find a journey of your own I know someday you’ll find a way – a place where you belong And while I live you’ll never be alone CHORUS If I could only tell you Just one thing to help you grow You already have within you Everything you need to know So trust your inner wisdom No matter what they say If only I could tell you What I’ve learned along the way

The Order of the Flaming Robe I scrimped and saved my money For about a year or so I wanted a fine vestment To the tailor I did go I wanted to give the Gods my best Attend all the rites in the finest dress So soon I was the owner of a lovely Druid robe It was the finest garment Its appearance did astound Its hem it was embroidered With the Ogham all around With silver buttons in a row Brighter than the whitest snow Its tunic made of linen with sleeves that reached the ground Twas early in the autumn upon a Samhain night When I first put on my robe The moon was shining bright I called upon the Gods to see Me dressed in Druid finery But when I lit the sacred fire, my robe it did ignite The flaming robe, the flaming robe The Order of the Flaming Robe But when I lit the sacred fire, my robe it did ignite The flaming robe, the flaming robe The Order of the Flaming Robe But when I lit the sacred fire, my robe it did ignite When the robe burst into flame I started panicking As I leapt around the fire the flames began to sting They all thought it was a dance As the fire spread to my underpants And while I stood there burning the grove began to sing The flaming robe, the flaming robe The Order of the Flaming Robe And while I stood there burning the grove began to sing Now I’ve learned my lesson, and I’ll never be the same These days I let the robe stay home When I light the sacred flame And you can recognize me if you make the Druid scene I’m the old guy with the ashen face in a t-shirt and blue jeans The flaming robe, the flaming robe The Order of the Flaming Robe I’m the old guy with the ashen face in a t-shirt and blue jeans

Winter of the Wheel For many years I’ve journeyed along the Pagan way Many roads I’ve traveled as I’ve grown I’ve listened to the Wise Ones Heard what they had to say Until I found a path that was my own Now that I am older looking back on where I’ve been I see how far we’ve come since we began We honor in our own way all the ones who came before And thank them as they help us understand CHORUS Oberon and Isaac, Selena and Margot Rolling Thunder, Starhawk And the others we all know Who work the land and till the soil Plant the seed and watch it grow For the harvest in the winter of the wheel Yes we’ve come a long way but we still have far to go To learn to live in harmony as one We’re living in the learning and There’s wisdom in the way And miles to go before the journey’s done Now the snow is on the rooftop but the fire is in the heart And there’s more days left behind us than before Now the old ways are the new ways And we’re learning as we grow And the Crone will be beside us evermore CHORUS Oberon and Isaac, Selena and Margot Rolling Thunder, Starhawk And the others we all know Who work the land and till the soil Plant the seed and watch it grow For the harvest in the winter of the wheel

The Elder Tree The old man walks through the grove In the snow He knows his time is at an end Once again So many things he has begun Left undone Silence greets him as a friend At the end CHORUS The Elder Tree drawing nigh Where all his dreams and wishes lie The elder tree waits for him All alone Its branches beckon him to rest So it seems He lies beneath to close his eyes As he sighs He drifts away there by the stream In a dream CHORUS The Elder Tree drawing near Where all his dreams will disappear The raven plucks away his soul Evermore The Mother Goddess in the Crone Bird of night The Summerlands summon him As he soars Born again and again In the light CHORUS The Elder Tree drawing nigh Where all his dreams and wishes die

about

Sencha Skene Seattle, Washington

(pronounced SHEN-ka SKAYNE)
I study all forms of spirituality.
The more I learn about paths from around the world, the more I know they all have more in common than not.

I seek the ancient origins of spirituality; the realms of animism and shamanism.

I began music in 1974. My influences were Neil Young, John Prine, Dan Fogelberg, and Pink Floyd.

Now I seek the mystical through music.
