The full moon rose at midnight Pale and bright Like your skin beneath my touch Summer left without a warning And in the morning I tried to tell myself you didn't mean that much CHORUS Sometimes the wolves are silent And the moon howls... Between the tvs and the telephone There lies another world I thought that we once shared But the trinkets and the baubles Crept up from behind and caught you unaware CHORUS You gave your soul up in the barter Became the martyr Not your most becoming role The curtain parted in a second Before you reckoned And then you traded off your soul CHORUS

Poetic Justice Copyright 1989 by Chuck Hall Sittin’ on the sidewalk with your head in your hands Too old to be a boy, too tired to be a man They never let you in on the master plan But do you really care Never any goals, all you want to do is live You’ve given your all until there’s nothing left to give They’ll be smiling in your face while they’re giving you the shiv But that’s how the game is played Chorus: You’re running out of alibis You’re running out of time Life amounts to nothing when existing is a crime Is this a penance for your sins, the beginning of the end Or just what they call poetic justice You never found a place that you could call your own Now you’re sleeping in the gutter with a trashcan for a throne You know they’ll never let you rest ‘til they’ve picked you to the bone But that’s okay Chorus Sittin’ on the sidewalk with your head in your hands Too old to be a boy and too tired to be a man Time to get up off your ass, it’s time to make a stand Stop feeling sorry for yourself The time is gonna come when you’ll be giving what you get If you wanna learn to gamble then you’ve got to learn to bet Get the cameras ready, get this fool up on the set Lights, camera, action Chorus: You’re running out of alibis You’re running out of time Life amounts to something if you give yourself some time The time has come for winning Is this the end or the beginning Or just what they call poetic justice

It’s always been this way Time will never change it Souls trapped inside themselves Reaching, never touching Two flowers in the sand Longing for each other Looking for a bridge to cross Reaching, never touching Wrapped up Wrapped up in glass I tried to reach you once You tried to reach me You can’t ignite the fire Giving never taking And when you give your all There’s nothing left inside We stand two empty souls Giving, never taking Wrapped up Wrapped up in glass Chorus: Passion dies a lonely death For those who try too hard Endless fantasies Are woven on the silken web of dreams Time cannot erase The timeless pain of failure The cold inside grows colder now Wrapped up Wrapped up in glass It’s an endless picture show Where the hero always wins It’s so easy to pretend Speaking, never feeling The frost is on the mirror now Barring your reflection I sit inside my crystal shell Speaking, never feeling Wrapped up Wrapped up in glass Chorus

Individuality Isn’t real It’s all a dream outside of time Some mad plot To rot Your mind You’re so behind It’s so unkind Chorus: Womb to tomb Your song goes on forever Womb to tomb You’re never quite together In your own place In your own time You can feel it growing If you had the chance Would you Do it all again? Would you take this life On new horizons? Or would you stay in the dark world Of the… Chorus

about

Sometimes the Wolves are Silent is a departure for me. It has a harder rock edge than my previous, more acoustic-oriented works. The last four years have left many of us wrestling with our sense of identity, and I wanted to explore that musically. Is money really more important than nature? Are trinkets and baubles really more important than relationships and connections? The songs on this album are my reflections on wrestling with these issues.

about

Sencha Skene Seattle, Washington

(pronounced SHEN-ka SKAYNE)
I study all forms of spirituality.
The more I learn about paths from around the world, the more I know they all have more in common than not.

I seek the ancient origins of spirituality; the realms of animism and shamanism.

I began music in 1974. My influences were Neil Young, John Prine, Dan Fogelberg, and Pink Floyd.

Now I seek the mystical through music.
